Material Selection and Alloy Preparation

Casting and Forging Processes

Two main methods are used to shape aluminum alloy wheels: casting and forging. In casting, molten aluminum is poured into a mould to form the wheels shape. Gravity casting, low-pressure casting, and high-pressure die casting are common techniques, each offering specific benefits in terms of precision and surface quality. Forging involves applying high pressure to a heated aluminum billet, resulting in a denser and stronger wheel structure, often used for high-performance vehicles.

Machining and Finishing

After forming, the wheels undergo machining processes such as CNC milling and drilling to achieve accurate dimensions and fitment. This step ensures that the wheel meets specifications for bolt patterns, offsets, and weight distribution. Surface finishing follows, including polishing, coating, and painting, to improve appearance and protect against corrosion.

Quality Control

Quality control is essential at every stage of production. Wheels are inspected for structural integrity, dimensional accuracy, and surface quality. Testing may include X-ray analysis, hardness tests, and dynamic balancing to ensure safety and reliability.
