Matexcel, a materials science company specializing in advanced biomaterials, has announced an expansion of its bioactive powder product line. The update introduces greater diversity and customization options, reflecting the company’s commitment to supporting progress in tissue engineering, dentistry, orthopaedics, and wound care.

Bioactive powders, such as hydroxyapatite and bioactive glass, are not passive fillers but active materials capable of bonding with tissues and stimulating cellular responses. Their ability to promote regeneration and integration makes them indispensable in the development of next-generation medical implants and scaffolds.

The new Matexcel portfolio includes three major categories. Hydroxyapatite (hap), a calcium phosphate material that closely resembles natural bone minerals, has long been recognized for its effectiveness in bone graft substitutes and dental repair. Bioactive glass, on the other hand, is a silicate-based composition that can bond with both bone and soft tissues, widely used in regeneration and drug delivery systems. In addition to these well-established options, Matexcel now provides customized bioactive powders, allowing researchers to define parameters such as particle size, porosity, and chemical composition to suit their specific applications.

These materials are designed for diverse clinical and research uses, ranging from orthopaedic and maxillofacial reconstruction to periodontal treatment. They are valued not only for their strong biocompatibility but also for features such as controlled biodegradability, antibacterial effects, and the ability to support natural tissue healing.

Johnson, one of Matexcel’s representatives, commented on the launch:

“The updated bioactive powder line reflects our focus on practical solutions for biomedical challenges. By offering materials with adjustable composition and structure, we are helping scientists and clinicians design therapies that integrate more effectively and deliver better patient outcomes.”

Matexcel continues to provide a broad range of biomaterials, including ceramics, nanostructured powders, and functional composites. Through the updated product line, Matexcel adds new options for researchers and clinicians working on biomedical innovation.

According to Johnson, the company is now offering 10% off on all products and services before the end of September, 2025, for its customers continuous support.
