A Personal Travel Experience Staying at Hotels near Las Vegas Airport
Hey everyone, James Williams here, and this trip to Las Vegas was something I’d been looking forward to for months.
Day 1: Arrival in Las Vegas & First Impressions
I landed at Harry Reid International Airport, and within minutes I realized why people often search for hotels near Las Vegas Airport—everything is incredibly close and convenient. I booked my stay at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, which is located at the southern end of The Las Vegas Strip, a lively and iconic neighborhood.

I compared prices on Booking.com, Expedia, and Airbnb, but I finalized my reservation through clearmystay.com because the deal and flexibility worked best for me.
Hotel Stay: Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino
Walking into Mandalay Bay felt surreal. The lobby was massive, golden, and buzzing with energy.
Amenities I Personally Used:
-
Mandalay Bay Beach (a real sand beach with wave pool)
-
Full-service spa & wellness center
-
Large fitness center
-
Resort-style pools and lazy river
-
Casino floor & live entertainment areas
After checking in, I went straight to my room. The floor-to-ceiling windows gave me a breathtaking Strip view, and at that moment I felt pure excitement mixed with calm—like the trip had officially begun.
Dinner Experience – Day 1
That night, I dined at StripSteak by Michael Mina, located inside the hotel.
The lighting was warm, the atmosphere upscale but relaxed, and my table overlooked the glowing resort pools. I ordered a perfectly cooked ribeye and a signature cocktail. Watching the lights reflect off the water while enjoying my meal made me feel completely present—no stress, just enjoyment.
Day 2: Beach, Pools & The Strip
I started my morning with breakfast at Border Grill, enjoying fresh juices while sunlight poured in through the windows.
Then I spent most of the day at Mandalay Bay Beach, which honestly feels like a tropical escape in the middle of the desert. White sand, palm trees, and a wave pool—it didn’t feel like Las Vegas at all.

Lying on a lounge chair, listening to music and waves, I felt relaxed and recharged. This was one of those moments where time slows down.
Shopping & Exploring The Strip
In the afternoon, I headed north along The Las Vegas Strip neighborhood and visited:
-
Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood
-
The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace
The Forum Shops felt like walking through ancient Rome—fountains, statues, and luxury brands everywhere. Shopping here wasn’t just about buying things; it was an experience.

Dinner with a View – Day 2
That evening, I had dinner at Rivea at Delano, located on the top floor.
The panoramic city view was unreal. Watching the Strip light up while eating Mediterranean cuisine made me feel grateful and amazed. I remember sitting there thinking, this is exactly why people fall in love with Vegas.
Day 3: Downtown & Fremont Street
Day three was all about contrast. I visited Downtown Las Vegas, specifically Fremont Street Experience.
The energy here is raw and electric—live music, street performers, classic casinos, and a huge LED canopy overhead. Compared to the polished Strip, Fremont felt more local and authentic.
I grabbed lunch at Heart Attack Grill—wild, over-the-top, and very Vegas. Laughing, people-watching, and soaking it all in, I felt adventurous and carefree.
Day 4: Spa Morning & Farewell
On my final day, I treated myself to the Mandalay Bay Spa. The quiet, calming atmosphere was the perfect contrast to the city’s nonstop energy.
After checkout, I reflected on how seamless the trip felt—from location to comfort to experiences. Staying close to the airport while still being on the Strip made everything easy.
Final Thoughts from James Williams
This trip wasn’t just about casinos or nightlife—it was about balance:
-
Relaxation at the beach
-
Incredible dining with unforgettable views
-
Exploring iconic neighborhoods
-
Shopping, culture, and pure entertainment
Las Vegas surprised me in the best way possible, and Mandalay Bay made the experience complete.
If you’re planning your own Vegas escape, take your time, explore beyond the casinos, and choose a hotel that matches the experience you want.
