This might not be what you want to hear, but sometimes changing your diet slightly can improve your allergy symptoms. Luckily, we are not talking about what you should take away as much as what you can add into your diet to help. Here are some things to add to your daily diet when you suffer from seasonal allergies.

Honey from Your Area

Honey is made with the pollen from the areas surrounding the hive. For centuries, indigenous people have known that local honey is a great way to protect themselves from the effects of the plants that grow nearby. Researchers have confirmed this as fact, but it's important to make sure that the honey you get unprocessed honey from a local source. Even then, it’s not a completely effective method for some people so you should be sure to have some other plans ready in case that one doesn’t work entirely or effectively enough for your comfort.

Eat Fruit with High Vitamin C

Fruits that are high in vitamin C can also help you with your allergies. Kiwi is a fruit that is known to not only have high levels of vitamin C, but also contain a natural chemical that helps your body to block out some of the chemicals your body uses to trigger certain allergic responses. Try to add a few of these rich fruits to your diet by including them in smoothies early in the day.

Get Lots of Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Omega 3 fatty acids are an essential part of nutrition. These antioxidants have a profound effect on your health because they’re needed to help fight off genetic anomalies, and cellular damage. Foods like fish and some seeds can help you to have an easier allergy season. In asian communities, it’s been discovered that people who eat more omega 3 heavy foods have less instances of hay fever.

Pump the Probiotics

If you've seen any of the health movement over the last few decades, you’ve probably heard about how beneficial probiotics can be for your digestion, but did you know that it can help you with your seasonal flu symptoms? Researchers have found out that probiotics can greatly reduce the amount of disturbances that you experience because of the bacteria in your body that help relay messages and control your immune responses. You can try adding more kefir or yogurt to your breakfast and lunch to easily get more of those fun, healthy foods.
